The T.A.P. Series Online Training Program for Food Safety Manager Certification is now avialable in all our classes.
Here is how it works. You sign up and pay for the T.A.P. Series either on line or by mail using our downloadable schedule. The Price is $199 - because of the cost of the program we cannot offer any corporate discounts at this tme for the T.A.P. Series program.
We then send you a confirmation of your registration, user name and password to enter the online program. The T.A.P. Series Food Safety Manager Certification has recently converted to an online system for all except those with "Dial-Up" internet service - "Dial-Up" registrants will receive a mailed CDROM mailed to the address provided on the registration form. There is no ServSafe book included with this course. All of the instruction and quizes are generated by the CDROM or Online. You even get to take a sample "Final Exam" to make sure you are ready to take the national certification exam.
Minimum Requirements to run the CDROM and connect to the online T.A.P Program are a CDROM drive, MS Windows 2000, XP or Vista operating system, Internet Explorer 6.0 or higer, 512 MB memory, multimedia speaker support. You log in and take the course at your own pace at home or at work and then test in the class in which you signed up. It is recommended that you give yourself enough time to do the online course but not so much time that you forget the information in the early parts of the course - approximately 1 month from receipt to testing is suggested.
This program is accepted in almost every juristiction in the U.S. even in many of those cities, towns and states that require a minimum number of hours of training (Rhode Island for example requires 16 hours of training - check with your local juristiction). The program "bookmarks" where you are as long as you save it when leaving the program so you do not have to do it all at once - you can do some and return to where you were when you left it. This gives you the scheduling flexibility that a set time class cannot. Because the National Certification Exam has to be proctored you must attend a class to test but only during the testing portion of the class you choose.
Right now we are offering the Full Certification Option only but will be adding the Re-Certification Option soon. You can choose either English or Spanish on The T.A.P. Series CDROM.
Re-Certification Time?
Is it time for you to Re-Certify in Food Safety? For many it is! Massachusetts requires Re-Certification every 5 years and many communities in The Commonwealth require it even more often (Check with yours!) and since the code was passed in 1999, if you do the math, your time may be now.
Pilgrim Hospitality offers a Re-Certification option in all our open enrollment classes or you can arrange for a Re-Certification Workshop for your organization to reinforce the Food Safety Principles that will help your managers with code compliance and help them prepare for the Certification Exam.
